3 key Emotions we need to be aware in Emotional Intelligence

Emotional Intelligence is being aware and managing our Emotions

As we all know, Emotional Intelligence is about being aware of our emotions and effectively managing them. However, many people are unaware that emotions can originate from different parts of our brains. The three key sources of emotions are: Conscious, Subconscious, and Instinctive Emotions.

Conscious emotions are those we are consciously aware of and can easily manage. For instance, during a crucial job interview, we may feel anxiety, stress, or doubt. As far as Emotional Intelligence goes, we can address and manage these emotions through techniques like contacting your Life Coach or practicing deep breathing exercises.

Subconscious emotions, on the other hand, influence our preferences, motivations, and behaviors without our conscious awareness. They are shaped by past experiences, memories, and beliefs. In an interview scenario, subconscious emotions can impact our performance and responses based on low self-esteem, which may stem from childhood insecurities or negative experiences.

Instinctive emotions are deeply rooted and are normally fear-based responses originating from our primal instincts. These emotions may manifest as a fear of failure, rejection, or the instinct to protect oneself in hostile situations. Other aspects of instinctive emotions are herd mentality and survival of the fittest instinct.

Managing these emotions is crucial for success as it affects our decision and choices in Life. All this what Emotional Intelligence is for serious practitioners to improve their work life as well as relationships with loved ones.
